Dec 30th
Today after our beach walk the little Thai man that sold us the bamboo shelves, came by with two bamboo loungers, each in the states would have cost us $300.00 or more here they were two for $126.00 and they are just beautiful...and he delivered them to my door!...it's all good...more work around the grounds...everyone here is amazed at our level of energy we bring with us with the vision of making this place a better paradise for all here....I always leave a place I have been better then when I arrived...so you know I have been here as I have left glitter and sparkles and good will along the way...lol...it's all good...I have not seen Ken this happy in about a year, since he was laid off his job of 20 years....he is playing in the waves and riding a kayak, doing gardening and just plain being free of stress....we have decided to put our house for sale when we get home and start packing our stuff to store it and what is being shipped here....I'm dreading this part as I will have to master the getting unattached to all my stuff....but that is all it is STUFF!...but it's my stuff and I will deal with it, I have already lost the greatest things a person could lose and that was April, so I know I can handle this small stuff...my vision is to sell our beautiful home to someone who will walk in and fall in love with it at first glance as it is a gem....here is the link so if you know anyone in the market for a beautiful house on the water let me know and we won't have to use a broker and we'll both save money....please allow time for the pictures and video to load...well worth it.

Today our neighbor Richard brought us a safe and we bolted it to the wall, this way we don't have to carry our passports and money....it's all good...here you just carry a copy of them in case of any accidents...it has been over cast daily which has made it cooler to work in the garden, but the humidity you can cut with a knife...it's all good!! My hair is the size of two heads of hair...lol....no straight hair here for me...all natural...(curly)...

We walked down for dinner after our massage and it was just Ken and I walking on the beach and there was no one at the place we ate....like it was designed just for us....we were so grateful for all this....just last year at this time we were frantic because he had lost his job and we knew it would only be a matter of time that we would have to sell our home....our beautiful home which I poured my heart and soul into decorating it to be a one of a kind romantic retreat for two....so I have been detaching from it for a year now and the Universe has given us an even better option, no work, no worry's....our health, love and our little casita for us to decorate it and make it our home....only thing missing is our babies...and family but that is the easy part who doesn't want to come to Thailand on vacation? so we'll have the place next to us when it is not rented for that...in the mean time we are stress free and living in paradise without the worries that would have resulted in illness....it's all good...until tomorrow...Donna

Pictures of our trip

************************************************
Dec 28th
Had our coffee and took a walk down the beach...breezy and the temp was perfect about 70 degrees...came across a Thai man with two bamboo shelves and we asked him if they were for sale and he said yes and we bought two bamboo shelves for $30.00 just what I needed for the kitchen since there are no cabnets there...a few minutes later we hear him out side and he had brought two more so we bought one more for the side of the bed...it's all good...

This morning was an errand day to buy some comforting things for our little casita, so we walked to the street and got a song tao, which is a pick up truck with a roof over the back end and it has seats along the sides, inside for passengers...it cost us 50 baht which is like a dollar to get into the next little town to go shopping....the driving here is just crazy. I look to the sides as I would have to have a constant dose of Zanax to survive it...lol...it's all good!!! they drive in a constant flow, which is just great if you were raised doing so but from my perspective it is just scary....I have not seen an accident here, because as crazy as it is it all flows in chaotic poetry....everyone lets everyone cut in and it flows....don't see road rage here because they allow and flow where in the states we resist and don't allow and we're all stressed and there is no flow....with that said I still won't look out the front where you can see all this craziness...

We went to a place like Cosco and they had everything you can imagine, the best fresh fish and all kinds of seafood's, and no smell that is how fresh it all is...then we walked up the street to Tesco which is like a walmart here....got some more pillows and pretty fabrics to decorate our tiny little casita....we load everything into a cab and they bring us to the door of our little casista and the cab driver leaves with ken's backpack in his back seat, the driver totally unaware that it was there, Ken runs after him but he's gone, luckily Bon our massage lady was there waiting for us and I asked her to hop on her scooter and chase the driver, Ken hopped on the back with no shoes and no helmet and off they went on the chase...I was on the porch waiting for them to return, it took them 30 min, they had to chase him all the way back to the store he picked us up.....I see Ken and Bon return with the back pack, and Ken a bit shaken (Bond James Bond) lol...what an ordeal, I just listened to Ken as he told the story of holding on and closing his eye's as she speed to catch the taxi....Then after that whole ordeal we both had a massage then walked down the beach with Richard our new neighbor for a bite to eat, the dinner was garlic fried rice and egg rolls that were to die for and the cost was $6.oo for the both of us and I had a huge beer.......came home and installed our new DVD player we bought for $25.oo...Tomorrow we'll watch a movie on the Chakras and relax .....it's all good...

Dec 29th
Been waking up early here, about 6:30 am and having coffee and gaze lovingly at my husband who is just so happy to be here....we took a stroll down the beach to pick up our laundry from a Thai lady down the beach, she washed our cloths and ironed them for $3.00.....hey With those costs I don't need a washer / dryer here....one less thing I have to do and it helps her and I get to walk down the beach with my husband and count our blessings....we cleaned up the beach front in front of our private beach which was all over grown with weeds and old garbage...we reseated the cement table by the water's edge and added beach sand around the floor of the table so you can feel the beach sand as you set there and drink your coffee or do your online work..it's all good...I racked the sand so it looks real neat...Ken found coconuts along the beach and we made a row of them , I feel like Tarzan and Jane...lol...it's all good...been learning a new Thai word daily.... dee dee mock mock means it's all good....I have the locals saying it now...

Watched a DVD on the chakras that was so amazing...I must find out if I can order it here and see if I can make it available to you...it is a must see....so informative and done so well...we have decided when we return our day will start off with coffee, then a walk to the yoga class down the beach, breakfast , massage, then come home and watch a healing DVD to learn all we can on healing, meditation and continue our spiritual learning .....and what I find enlightening I will share it with you and you can experience our journey should you desire to follow in our foot prints...and learn what we learn....I'll be thrilled to share our adventure with you...

Updates from Thailand 12/27/08

Dec 27th

Today we woke up early....this is so new to me as at home, I'm up by 12 noon as I work late in to the wee hours of the night on my newsletter....so now I'm not working so I rise early to catch the sunrise....It was raining today most of the day, we sat on our porch and was thrilled to just watch the rain and see the surf pick up, ken made a dash to the beach to body surf, the waves got bigger and he knew there was surf right at our own little beach, he was thrilled almost into tears...lol since it has been years since he left Hawaii, where he surfed everyday, and now here is a way for him to live his passion surfing.....the sand is even packed enough to ride bikes on the beach....life is just getting better here for us....all the right doors are opening here for us....it is a sign for us to make the move....it's all good

Tonight we went to another party near the house we went to the Christmas dinner party at the house on the hill....this house was awesome also, we had the pleasure of a friend of Jeff's,Nigel who is a chef, and he made turkey, gravy, mushrooms, mashed potato's, veggies, and so much more the best host....some of the same crown was at this party...everyone was from other countries making Thailand their home and loving it here....all not working and living so well care free and loving it here.....had a wonderful time and ate way too much.....but I think the Holiday partying has come to a stop for now....we leave on the 15th and will return in March with our babies....we have rented our casita for a year, so slowly we will make it just perfect and very Zen like....I'm very happy here adjusting living with less and loving it....knowing that what ever I desire here will manifest for me.....this place will be a little temple when I'm finished with it....I've added new pictures....until tomorrow....love and light to you all....it's all good!!!!

Updated pictures from Thailand

Merry Christmas! Ken woke me up before sun rise and we had our Coffee listening to the ocean....I cut up some fruit and thought about how blessed we are to be in this time of our life with no obligations to anything or anyone and how simple and sweet life would be here...and how grateful we were to be here and have our love and our health....it's all good....waited for my my massage lady to arrive...today I ordered a two hour massage, one hour Thai style and the next just an oil soothing massage....life is good!!! tonight we have a party to go to that is being held by friends of Jeff's, so new people to meet that have made Thailand their home so I can't wait to see this home, I hear it is just beautiful, as they are well off and can afford to live at that level .....until later signing off for now it's all good and I'm truly grateful THANK YOU GOD!!!

*******************************************
Christmas day

Jeff's friend Franklin picked us up to go to this party on the top of a hill....going there was winding up a dirt road, and I was silently praying and it was still light out, thinking in my mind what will it be like when it gets dark and we have to leave for home.....it's all good...arrived to this beautiful modern home like at home with a spectacular view of the ocean....the house was just stunning as were the host Marko and his lovely wife Nicole....she had been up all through the night cooking a wonderful Christmas dinner, a baked turkey and honey baked ham, along with all the trimmings of mashed potato's and gravy and all the different assortments of dishes the different guest brought...

There was a bartender making drinks and all the sangria you could drink, which I had my share....their house was on a mountain top which they had designed with two guest rooms over looking the infinite pool that also over looked the ocean way way below...Nicole's kitchen had all the creature comforts of home, granite counters, double refrigerator, wall to wall cabinets...their bedroom was on the second floor over looking the ocean, just amazingly beautiful! but with that beauty comes mortgage payments bills and no freedom from work....I'll take the trade and be care free in this stage in my life....We met wonderful people there from all over the world who had given up their homes and prior lives to come to Thailand to chill and live within their means and live very well!!!

I mention this because traditional Thai casita's are very small and have just the bare essentials...Marko and Nichole are in their 40's and have a grown daughter Britney away at college...they also spend much time in Bejing, because he works as a project developer for major shopping malls and much more....As I looked at their home and all their wonderful creature comforts, I saw myself and Ken ten years ago and our focus was our home and all the renovations we did and how lovely our pool turned out and our huge Tiki bar and the best view you could ask for along with a dock and our boat.....Now we're in a stage in our lives where all that was wonderful and I love my home but now I look at it with new eyes, and those new eye's tell me that this little casita we're staying in is all we really need and the pay off is no more looking for work for Ken and we could live on a fixed income with all the pressure off of us and we could enjoy life and get off the USA hamster wheel and live life simply with no worry's or debt....So this is a great way to see if we like it enough to make the move to be free to live our lives without the pressures of a huge mortgage and be care free...

The hard part is leaving all the collection of all my beautiful things and furnishings, yes I know it's all sold here, its just my attachment to it...My friend Phil and Paula from Maui Hawaii whom I speak about it in my Story Of Hope said to me that if he feels attached to anything he has, he gives it away...I must master this...he is one of my teachers, as when I met them I wanted to live care free like them in a little casita just like them, and bingo the universe heard the desires of my heart and granted me this place...now the choice is ours...Phil and Paula live simply and enjoy their lives together making jewelry and selling it to pay their bills...I so admired their life style and wanted to stay in Hana when we were there five years ago...but at the time Ken was still working and the timing was not right....but now the doors have been opened for us thanks to ken's brother and the connections he has made here in Thailand.....Jeffery it's all good!!! and we thank you!!!

Flying to our little Island

Today packed and got ready for our trip to our little Island in Koh Sumui...the Hotel gave me free internet while I was there because there was a little trouble hooking up to the net so they waved all fees and gave me today to use free before we leave for our trip, so I uploaded all our photos from our ceremony and the rest of our vacation trip and touched bases with all of you....yeah!!!...got a private taxi to the airport which is a big deal here, as everyone uses public transportation as it is cheaper, but we had all out luggage as well as Ken's brothers....get to the airport and it's real small , no big hassle to go through security...but as I look around all the passengers are men, so they didn't use jet fuel to fly the airplane, they flew on testosterone!...lol I knew now why all these men where here on vacation and it was not the beaches! no judgment, it's all good!

Arrived and got a cab to our little casita (cottage) and it was so peaceful, little but ours for now!....pretty bare and it needed my touch badly so tomorrow going on a shopping spree of sarongs to decorate the walls and add a little feeling of home here...bought nice cushions for our little outside chairs which is our little dining area...with a view of the ocean!!! yes it is all back down to basics here, just the necessities, if I lived here I can turn this little cottage into a little Gene bottle (like I dream of Jenie) as it is my style of decorating...and with all the beautiful fabric here it would take me a week and it would be done...our rent here for a month is $350.00 a massage is $8.00 for one hour...we figure if we wanted to we could live here comfortably on Ken's social security with no problem and lack for nothing...it is quite tempting, no more worries and no more bills!....life in paradise yet as close to all of you as a keyboard!...I would insist on wireless as it is about $75.00 for a router one time fee and then I'm happy...

Our day would start at sunrise with coffee over looking the ocean...then a walk down the beach for our 8:30~10 am yoga class then an hour massage then a walk to get some fried rice and walk back and take a nap! How does that sound for a new life style?....That is what we call retirement in style within our means....a lot to think about here...in this compound there are seven little cottages that need my touch and they would be just the perfect get a way for my friends and anyone one who would like a month in paradise...If it was my perfect dream plan it would go along these lines.....do a ten year lease from the owner of the property, fix each little cottage up in western comforts but Thai style with all the creature comforts, add a hot tub to each on the outside surrounded by lush plants and Buddhas at every turn with solar lights everywhere to light your path to the ocean.

Now on the ocean front I would have seven wooden double loungers with umbrellas so every guest here would have their own lounger...I would also have a local vendor bring breakfast everyday with fresh papaya, pineapple, melons, and bananas, and fresh breads....

At lunch time I would have another vendor bring and cook for us all a Thai style lunch which is fried rice, noodle soup and an egg roll...and for dinner we can walk down the beach to have dinner served to us on the beach on romantic table settings with candles and lovely music...with dinner being fresh catch of the day with steamed veggies and rice...stroll home and the evening is yours to do as you like as the day is....you can even have a massage lined up for right before bedtime in your own bed! I figure without doing the math it would run about $1,000 a month....what a dream vacation huh?....I feel this is do able....just have to have money to invest to redo the decor and add the tubs and ammonites to each little house...Oh and yes have it would all be as retreats, spiritual retreats! offering classes in many areas, like Reiki, Tantra, EMT,past life regressions, chakras, meditation, and so much more that the College of Metaphysical has to offer...or just rent care free and leave all the business thoughts behind....

I'm putting this all out to the Universe and let God take it and bring it back to me even better then I have asked for!...This life style is not for everybody....it's for folks that are tired of the States, the worries, the money crunch and want to live a quite life...or just want to get away from it all for a month, or more...if you need to be entertained, there is plenty to do here...as for me all I need is my computer, yoga, a daily massage, meditation, and above it all the love of my husband and my three fur babies and I'm set for life...there are so many little Islands here to get away on day trips or longer exploring this beautiful land and fabulous water of teal blue....like snorkeling, scuba diving, or just plain vegging out and soaking in the sun with a frozen drink to thrill your spirits....

Last night was Christmas Eve and we met our neighbor Steven and his lovely Thai wife Nan...we went over to their casita and watched a movie and had popcorn and candy and had a great time just enjoying the simple things that we have all taken for granted for a much faster life....earlier in the evening Jeff had made us Christmas Eve dinner and served it at our little outside deck...He made us a verity of steamed mixed fresh vegetables just perfect in flavor and taste not to mention healthy!...we talked about all the possibilities that can happen here and how wonderful the evening was...I must say it had to be the best Christmas Eve ever (except for my babies not being here too) that we can remember...listening to the ocean roar and just the company of Jeff and Ken...The bond of brothers have begun to grow and flourish here...its all good!!!
Pictures to follow....to tired to load them ....lol

Click to view pictures of Our Thai Renewal of Our Wedding Vows

Ken surprised me with a traditional northern Thai wedding to renew our wedding vows of 16 years . A truly romantic experience! These weddings are known throughout Thailand as the most romantic and spiritual weddings in Thailand, having an exotic and romantic flair to them... So us! I was so surprised that Ken came up with this all on his own with the Traditional Thai formal ware that was just beautiful and so romantic, it was like stepping back in time...Our wedding attire dates back 500 years in tradition....I was impressed and it felt like I had dressed like this before, it felt very familiar, must have the Guru do a past life regression on us because that was really familiar...Ken looked like a prince and I felt like a princess....you know what's really funny is that ken had this planned before our trip and he kept it a secret, it must have been killing him...lol

This Thai wedding was a unique way to experience the beauty and generosity of the culture of Northern Thailand and its people - a truly unique way to experience our renewal of our vows .

All of Thailand has their version of the marriage ceremony where you truly do 'tie the knot'. It is a deeply spiritual ceremony for Buddhist and non Buddhists alike. If you choose to legally register your marriage locally it is easy with their help, it is also a legally accepted marriage in most all countries.

We enjoyed the romance and spiritual experience together of our Thai wedding, starting a unique new life together as a happily renewed married couple.

This is the most lavish Thai Buddhist wedding for the truly romantic like Ken and I. I was treated to a "Spa treatment" or traditional "Thai massage" the day before the wedding. They also arranged for a manicure and pedicure for Ken and I and hair dresser services for on the wedding day for me. They provided traditional Thai wedding attire for Ken and I and Thai jewelry for me along with a lavish head peice.OMG!!!

The wedding day started with morning offerings to the monks. We were escorted to the morning market to select foods and flowers for the monks. We received a formal monks blessing at a temple by highly revered monks. The merit making of offering monks food in the morning, birds and fish to release at the temple which is said to encourage good luck in the couple’s future.

Ceremony, Buddhist weddings in Thailand after the knot tying ceremony, we started for the evening wedding feast which had included a selection of Traditional Thai ethnic dances preformed by a local Thai dance troupe. We both partook in setting off Traditional Fire balloons "KomLoi" to remove bad luck The evening was capped off with a professional Thai fireworks display! This was as romantic as when we first got married in Hawaii in 1995, just the two of us and God as our witness...it's all good!

On your first morning as married couple, they suppled us a very simple breakfast including a great selection of tropical fruits and epicurean delights, or what ever you prefer for breakfast. We received Thai massages in the morning on the private balcony of their teak hideaway. How romantic is that...hope you enjoy the pictures of us. life is good!

In ancient times a wedding chamber ceremony followed the party, when a married elderly couple would prepare the wedding bed and place on it a plate with offerings of food symbolizing fertility, while other token symbols of good luck and prosperity were placed in the room. Meanwhile a silver and a golden barrier were created outside the room by the guests, through which the couple passed before proceeding to the wedding chamber, where they were advised by their elders of their future responsibilities, and had their union blessed. The guests then retire leaving the couple alone.

Our Vows

I, Donna, take you, Ken to be my beloved partner,
to journey together in love and joy throughout this lifetime.
I promise to love you tenderly
and to care for you both with kindness and compassion.
I will encourage and support you on your spiritual path
and in the manifestation of your life's work.
I will be your fortress in the storms of life,
protecting, sheltering and comforting you.
I will listen with my heart and keep it open to you always.
I hold the intention to live daily
my highest truth and integrity.
I will bask in the goodness of your heart
and give you the joy of mine all the rest of my days.
and so be it...

Our Trip to Thailand so far

We were up by 7am..ready for our pick up at 10:am with a limo to the airport....we took US Air from Tampa to Philadelphia...with a two hour layover which went fast as we looked for an extra duffle bag that didn't materialized. Now we took US Air to LAX, and we were late due to head winds, and to top it off they wouldn't check our bags all the way to Thailand for some silly reason so when we got into LAX, we had to wait for the luggage and run to get a bus to get us to the other side of the terminal to catch our Thai Airways flight....well when we got to the check in they said, no so sorry flight is closed..we asked to speak with a supervisor and she said no the flight is closed, and for us to go back to US Air to get a hotel voucher...then two seconds later the supervisor turned to us and said they would allow us on the plane...so we ran with our luggage that still was not checked to get in line for the security check which was a mile long...in line we ran into Ken's brother who was way ahead in line and that allowed us to get in line with him instead of the back of the line. Did I mention the hassle it is to go through security?

OMG, I thought I had picked the perfect comfortable outfit for the trip, a one piece velvet black jumpsuit to keep me warm on the flight, well I didn't even think how that would be to just use the rest room, what a mistake that was!!!...then oh course all my gold bangle bracelets that had to come off along with my belt and my boots...and earrings...then I had my sweet little max computer nicely packed in my suitcase, well they had to see the computer, so I had to dig it out while I was barefoot on this cold terminal floor and still keeping an eye out for the rest of my stuff that was going through xray...after all that getting everything back on and running to catch our flight which had to be over a mile run to get to...When we got to the gate there was a delay of over an hour, so what was all the rush all about?

Finally they call our flight, we get on and we past through second class and saw the seats recline all the way into a bed...wow, but those were not our seat. We were in third class...lol...the plane was beautiful and the flight crew was so pretty in their flowing purple and pink uniforms, they looked like porcelain dolls, the flight was almost ready to take off when they passed through the cabin with hot towels for us, which was so nice after such a long day. The seat came with our own tv monitor with endless movies and games along with music. After take off they came by with a lovely drink service and they didn't charge us for water or sodas, the reason I mentioned it because on US Air they charged us for drinks (sodas and water) along with a charge for a sandwich. So here comes the meals, a wonderful Thailand meal of rice with sautéed vegetables, fresh warm roll and dessert, all served with real silver ware and a glass for your soda. Ok so we're fed and settled in we took our sleeping pills and got ready to watch a movie. We snuggled in with our pillows and fell asleep...

Next we are awakened with hot towels and breakfast, yeah we're almost there, but we were so wrong, there was still another 9 hours to go after breakfast, I thought to myself then why did they wake us? So we ate our cheese omelet and hot croissants fresh juice and we took another sleeping pill and went back to sleep for another four hours when they woke us up again this time for a hot lunch, rice and sweet and sour port and dessert and fresh bottled water, yummy all very delicious. Still we had over two more hours to go, still dark outside. So I went to take a walk to see the flight attendants and took some great pictures of them, they were so nice and so beautiful and so elegant. They are what the USA flight attendants used to be like, but not anymore. Well we finally land and go through customs all a breeze, I was thinking if we were to have brought the dogs with us what a nightmare it would have been running through the airport and through security it would have been... So I'm very thankful to Clarissa for watching them while we're gone....We took a taxi to our hotel on Khao San Road and unpacked and headed for a two hour massage...something we had been thinking about all the way there!!!

OMG did that feel wonderful, Ken and I had our massage in the same room by these two real sweet Thai ladies that really knew their trade, as soon as they started all our troubles faded away and it all seemed worth while...Afterwards we had our hair washed and then went to get a bite to eat...I had fried garlic rice and a huge Thai beer. Ken had the same only his had shrimp and eggs no beer for Ken...after dinner we walked around and I bought new luggage because mine was pretty beat up. There were street vendors selling anything and everything I felt like I was on one of those food channels on T.V seeing all these strange foods..

How about some pure protein from insects? mmm yummy!!...I'll pass

The new one was $29.00 with a built in lock what a deal! we walked up and down the street and saw all the street vendors with all they had to offer, incense, cloths, anything you can imagine. We then came back for a nap and when Ken brother arrived we were ready to go see the town. I was so tired that I needed a nap before I head for some night life in Thailand.. Well I never woke back up and ken was sick, he had food poisoning!!!! Poor guy was sick all night long!!! Thank God for immodium that my neighbor made me bring with me....But I never woke up that is how passed out I was, I slept through his whole ordeal!!!

We wake up the next day to Ken's brother Jeff knocking on our door for breakfast...Ken still not feeling up to par, but we meet him down stairs for a bite to eat then off to the biggest mall I had ever seen I was like a deer in head lights!...but not too long into the mall that ken was sick again so we had to leave, I was so bummed but knew he was turing green....got back into our room Ken went right to sleep, still feeling sick...I started to blog our experience before I forgot all the details...Ken still not well.

So I let him sleep and went upstairs for some well needed pampering, a two hour massage, one hour oil massage followed by an hour of herbal heat massage...didn't know what that was but it sounded healthy and soothing...after the one hour oil massage,

it switched to the hot herbal, which was two packs of mashed up herbs, ginger, and other things I can't pronounce..lol all rolled up into this pounding style ball....while I was getting the oil massage these two little rolled up herb balls were getting steamed hot...then she started to pound my body with this hot padded ball of herbs, felt very good, and I figured it was a healthy blend for my skin....here is how they pound the herbs and make the brew...

Then I went for a much needed pedicure, boy do I feel spoiled! I went to check on Ken and he still didn't want to get out of bed so I went and got him gatorade and brought him back a fruit smoothy and a tortilla with sliced bananas and chocolate drizzled on top...But he couldn't eat it so I did...by this time it was around 8pm so I headed for bed, I know it is early but our bodies are so out of whack....

To my horrible surprise I woke up at 1:am so sick, vomiting and diarrhea till 7am....OMG I wanted to die....when Ken went through this the night before I had slept through his whole ordeal, I was unconscious from the long flight...But he was right there for me all night long as I cried and was slowly turning into liquid!!! We were supposed to have returned to the big mall that day but I was so weak and felt so achy and still very queasy...Ken went to the Pharmacy and got me some anti nausea medication and an antibiotic for the stomach bug that was turning me into liquid Donna...lol...I was not laughing!!!

I started to feel better then when I realized I had also a urine infection that was killing me, so off to the clinic we go, sure enough they tested me for it and I did have one, so more antibiotics and pain pills...by that evening I knew the infection was under control, I was so relieved...I only got out of bed to go to the clinic and back to bed I went with chills and still queazy...Ken brought me food but I couldn't even look at it much less taste it...so another day wasted because of this crap in my system...couldn't figure it out, I didn't drink the water, only bottled water, one beer, fried rice when Ken had dinner the first night, he got ill but not me? So we still can't figure out what made us sick?

The next day Jeff, Ken's brother reported that last night he had been sick all night too, and he has lived in Thailand for over 10 years, so maybe it was a 24 hour flu we were lucky enough to catch on the plane and pass along to him maybe? Who knows, all I care about is that it never happens again....I miss my doggies I so needed my Yoda and Honeybunny to sooth me when I was sick....But Ken was there like my little nurse and he did a real good job tending to me as I was such a baby....

Now we're are feeling better to continue our journey to Pattaya south east of Bangkok to visit there along with Ken's brother...it was a two hour van ride just to pick up all the passengers going to Pattaya, then a van change and luggage change to the next van, boy I was not into this at all as I was still feeling weak...Now we're all in the next van and it is another three hour drive OMG!!! I thought we'd never get there...Finally light at the end of the tunnel...we see the ocean, life comes back to my body...then were told to get off the van and into another van to go to the hotel, by this time we knew the deal, which meant that we had to go to all the different hotels to drop off each passenger, so we bailed with all our luggage and got a taxi...The hotel Jeff had in mind was full, so we had to look for another one, mean while we're tired hot, and cranky...lol so we tried another one and they had two rooms, a little bit of a dump but at this time a bed was all we wanted...yeah a hot shower and a nap was all I wanted, but There was no hot water...S#$%!!! so we tried to take a nap but couldn't so Ken suggested before it got dark lets go look for a place to get a bite to eat...outside our room across the street were only strip joints with beautiful Asian or Thai girls working the poles and hustling passers by...I again was like a dear in head lights...one girl who was real pretty with long black hair and a beautiful petite body with very sexy clothes on was working the men at the bar, (I could see all this from across the street) it was an open bar that faced the streets. Well that pretty girl I mentioned bent over to get something off the floor and when she did I knew she was not a real girl, she as I learned was called a Lady Boy....I don't care, I have no judgement, I was just shocked at how much a lady she resembled and what a surprise some poor unsuspecting guy would discover...

Before I left On this trip I took a 30 day challenge, to bless everything I see, and to judge nothing other then it is all good....well it has been a real real challenge to say this is all good as I was hugging the toilet....so I looked at her and blessed her and said to myself it's all good....lol

We got a taxi and went to the only place that I would trust the food, even thought we were not sure if it even was the food and not just a flu bug, but at this point I was taking no chances, so we see the Hard Rock Hotel, lets go there, so we went in and it was completely beautiful and empty, Ken and I had the same thought, lets see how much to stay here? So after dinner (a bowl of soup was all I could handle) we got prices and said we could do this tonight and transfer all our luggage or book it for tomorrow...After the long day we had we decided in the morning after a night of rest...The Hard Rock's pool area reminded us of Hawaii with huge water lagoons and loungers and tiki huts to sit under, after all that is what we had in mind when we booked our trip...

So after dinner we walked down the beach which is a main drag with hundreds of bars, strip joints, stores after stores, tons of motorbikes a complete sensory overload!!!! wow so much action there that it could last you a life time...Now I see the attraction to this place, lots of older single men with young Ladies (it's all good)...lol...we couldn't handle all this so we got a cab and headed for our hotel for some quite sleep.....well the bars were just getting started, they were now at almost full throttle blaring music and the loud noise of traffic right outside our room...(it's all good)

After a very restless night we get up early and pack and get Jeff and we leave the Hotel and we're off to our safe haven the Hard Rock Hotel (it's all really good) lol...we check in to an ocean front room on the 7th floor with a soft mattress, (by the way the mattresses were so hard in all the other hotels my hips were so sore I couldn't lie on my side) it's all good!!!....here is a picture of our room...and our view

Yeah I have access to the internet from the privacy of my own room, not in a crowded internet room....I'm in heaven...It's ll good...we had breakfast, a real meal for me in four days, fried rice and papaya, I know it's weird but they have rice for breakfast...it tasted so good now that I psychologically felt it was safe....it's all good!

We come back to the room and Ken takes a cat nap while I recap everything here....His brother calls to go for a walk around town and to the mall, so no nap for me, we take a brisk walk at warp speed for no ungodly reason I was so pooped, we could have called a taxi, but Jeff (ken's brother) monitors every cent...lol... it's all good..The mall was not like in Bangkok at all...I was disappointed but oh well it's all good....we separated from Jeff and we walked the mall while he did his errands....we took a cab back...

My tummy still not at its highest...did I mention that I have been scratching my skin to pieces?...From process of elimination I think it is the pain medication they gave me for my bladder infection, so I stopped it. and I also stopped the antibiotic because it has been two days now and it feels as if it is gone....Plus I can't drink a beer or sit in the sun without disintegrating on those antibiotics...lol...it's all good

Did I mention everywhere I went they pointed at me and said you look like Shakira....I just smiled and bowed...lol it's all good ;)..that's because I'm the only blonde anywhere I go...lol Like a pomegranate in a basket filled with limes...it's all good!!

Tonight Jeff (ken's brother) is taking us on a tour of the red light district here God help us!!!! it's all good...Oh by the way that itching around my neck and arms, well I sprayed some perfume that my sweet neighbor Carol gifted me before my trip on those spots and I ran around the room screaming like Richard Pryor on fire.....it's all good!! by the way it is Dec.19th it's all a blur....until later.....

Ken in our hall way with the Beach Boys...lol

Dec 19th...met for dinner, still my tummy not 100%, but I played it safe and ordered fried rice from the hotel...then we took the journey to the unknown, the wild red light district which really is everywhere, but this one place had a mile of open bars on both sides of the street with ladies calling all the men that walked by to go into their place..music blaring everywhere...it was a scene from star wars when they stepped into that weird bar...lol...saw maybe two couples with girlfriends or wives from home, the rest were all single men with lady's of the night everywhere you went....this is Las Vegas on steroids!... but Jeff said we had to see it to believe it so I was game...there were too many bars to count on just one street...makes New Orleans look very very small...but the music was really bad, loud and the bands couldn't hold a tune singing American songs with accents so heavy that it made it not understandable...oh well when your drunk and have one of these ladies telling you how wonderful these men are who are paying them life is good ( for them)....I saw men that probably at home would never be looked at by a pretty women, and here they can have anyone they choose and at least feel loved even if it's just for a few hours of an illusion ...no judgment just report the facts please don't kill the messenger....;)...

As the city grew from a fishing village to Thailand’s busiest resort area over the decades, women flocked to Pattaya from all over Thailand, but mainly from the poor Northeast, to make a living entertaining foreign men. They work as go go dancers, massueses, free-wheeling waitresses or simply ‘vacationers’ hoping to pick up a easy-spending ‘farang’ off the beach. Of course, the tourist industry is huge and also supports an even larger number of respectable women in Pattaya, earning a living honestly. Not everyone you meet here is ‘up for grabs’, so show alot of respect.

This culture is all Buddhist , they don't steal, or kill, or lie, or cheat, and they honor their parents....sex to them is a way of life as natural as making stir fry...they all have smiles on their faces, they bow to you after you pay them even for a coffee....they bow to you when they first see you and its that way everywhere...they are hard working people trying to make it above poverty, so they are not ashamed to do what it takes to feed their family, the girls send all their money to their parents to help them, they all are very close..you see sex to them is not a bad thing, to them it is a win win, the man gets his needs met and she gets her rent paid and food for her family....I'm not justifying it just reporting...and they all seem so happy, men are treating them to dinner and drinks and more cash then they'd make in a month....it's all good....sending blessings to them!...it's all good

It’s not difficult to find women to keep you company in Pattaya, the lanes along the beach road are lined with bars loaded with skimpy dressed girls who’ll happily go back to your hotel for the night if you come to a suitable agreement. The whole scene is rather festival and open, without the usual sleaze associated with prostitution. Some find it fascinating to sit and people watch, and if you’d prefer to sit among it all and quietly sip a beer and watch the ‘footie’ on TV, there usually won’t be any pressure on you.

Go Go dancers dancing on platforms in skimpy outfits...tiny ladies, they must have weighted at least 85 pounds tops!...please God make this night end!!!! it's all good....couldn't wait to get back in my room and shower!!! to cleanse my aura!!...did I mention while I was standing there looking around I felt something drop on my fingers and I looked up and there were a bunch of birds and one had just dumped his crap on me, but I'm thankful I was not looking up with my mouth open.....lol...it's all good!! so being the germ aphobic that I'm I tried not to panic thinking I might catch some rare bird poop flu!....This week has been a rough week for us...signing off and going to bed and try to forget this night ever happened...here is a picture of one of the dancers...it's all good

Tomorrow all I want is a massage and to sit by the pool and not leave the grounds...Ken feels the same way..Monday we leave for Koh Samui where the Island is quite and we have a little bungalow booked next to Jeff on a peaceful beach....this is what we have been waiting for....I had not planned this extra trip to Pattiya, but it sounded good at the time....it's all good....signing out till tomorrow....

BOO HOO SOB SOB

Sob...Sob...Sob...

You would think that I'm going to a funeral instead of on vacation! I was sad all day knowing that I would have to bring my babies to Clarissa for loving care that only a breeder would give...for a whole month...I cried all the way there and back and as I type these words there is a lump in my throat...

They might have fur all over but they are my babies...and to come home and feel the emptiness, when I usually hear there little love barks telling me that they missed me while I was out doing errands...

I know I will have a wonderful time as this is my second time to Thailand and I never wanted to come back!...lol..But the power of my babies brought me back...Please bookmark this blog or subscribe and stay connected to all the pictures I will post here of that beautiful country and they're beautiful people, they are known for the country of smiles...even the little toddlers would come to me and bow and say namaste..

As I settle in for the night, I'll miss my goodnight snuggles from Yoda and spooning Honey Bunny...Cheetah our Shih-Tzu is with me tonight as I will leave her with my uncle who lives across the street tomorrow. At least she will snuggle with me tonight...She knows something is up with all the packing. Animals are so smart they never cease to amaze me. I have to take this advice from Brian Tracy, I'll share it with you below...Sending you lots of love and well wishes until I write again..

Relax and Recharge Completely

By: Brian Tracy

Regular relaxation is essential for a long life and personal effectiveness. Here are some techniques for relaxing physically that are used by the most successful and highest paid people in America.

Take Time Off Every Week
First of all, work only five or six days per week, and rest completely on the seventh day. Every single study in this area shows that you will be far more productive in the five or six days that you work if you take one or two days off completely than you ever would be if you worked straight through for seven days.

Get Your Mind Busy Elsewhere
During this time off, do not catch up on reports, organize your desk, prepare proposals, or do anything else that requires mental effort. Simply let your mind relax completely, and get busy doing things with your family and friends. Maybe work around the house, go for a walk, engage in physical exercise, watch television, go to a movie, or play with your children. Whatever you do, discipline yourself to shut your mental gears off completely for at least one 24-hour period every seven days.

Get Away on Mini-Vacations

Second, take one three-day vacation every three months, and during that time, refrain from doing any work. Do not attempt to catch up on even a few small things. If you do, you keep your mental gears in motion, and you end up neither resting nor properly doing work of any quality.

Let Your Goddess Grow

"Rekindling Joy"

The holidays are a time of festive gatherings, where we expect to share meals, gifts, and make a positive connection with loved ones. But with many people clinging to old situations or emotional trauma, exchanges can become heated and disappointing. The season never seems to resemble the greeting card commercial. Instead of feeling full during the season of light, we may notice lack. No matter our wisdom tradition or what time of year, in order to live a joyful life we must be consciously aware of staying in present moment awareness. This is where joy resides!

Joy exists when we are in tune with the wonder of life.
Welcoming joy into our experiences can mean cooking dinner for the family, or rolling in the snow or the ocean. When we invite joy into a relationship, we consciously give up trying to change the other person. We cannot change another individual by holding on to "what should be" rather than accepting "what is."

A Reason for the Season." This month, let's remember that joy is present in every molecule of creation. It is a remembrance of the Divine Presence, an affirmation of Oneness and our infinite nature. When we rekindle joy in our daily experience, we feel fully alive!

What would it be like to be enlightened?

What would it be like to be enlightened?

We might consider the activities of a God-conscious spiritual teacher, who is scheduled to lecture at a public meeting. How, we may wonder, would he or she travel there? Would he or she levitate and fly? Would he or she dematerialize and simply appear at the appointed place? It’s possible that he or she might be able to do those things, but more likely, as a human being, would use ordinary human ways of getting somewhere – he or she would probably walk, ride a bicycle, drive a car, take a plane or take the bus.

The teacher might also decide to energize his or her biological system before leaving home, and while he or she could have developed the ability to enter deep meditation and absorb vital energy from the cosmos, it is more probable that he or she would choose the very effective method of eating food.

What to wear? Indeed, the teacher could put on flowing robes and decorate his or her body elaborately, but if he or she is a Western teacher talking to a Western audience, he or she will probably clothe him or herself comfortably, consistent with the fashions of the day… put on socks and shoes, pants and a shirt. He or she will comb his or her hair, and brush his or her teeth.

Arriving at the place of the lecture, the teacher climbs several flights of stairs, causing his or her heart to beat faster and making breathing hard. During encounters with individual members of the audience before the lecture, the teacher meets some who cause discomfort, others to whom he or she feels drawn because of their physical attractiveness, and others with whom there is a special spiritual rapport. And he or she yawns. The teacher’s eyes feel gritty because he or she stayed up late last night because of a flat tire. Now, the teacher walks on stage and says, “Good evening, I want to talk to you about becoming God-conscious.”

What? This person who gets around like the rest of us, who eats and sleeps like a regular person, whose body gets tired, who has emotions and feelings, who is uncomfortable with some people, who has flat tires – this person is enlightened?

But what do we expect? That God-consciousness – which we can all attain – will transform us into non-human humans? Into science fiction space-people? Surely not, for our humanness is not something to be circumvented, but is something to be completed. And that doesn’t mean we shall stop needing to eat, sleep, bathe, dress, find places to live, travel about, and have relationships. It does mean, though, that we shall be able to do these things with a sense of balance and optimism; that problems, large and small, will not consume us with fear; that we will be anchored in a sense of rightness, in a knowledge of our unity with all life; that we will remain poised and peaceful even while we flow with the creative undulations of an evolving universe; and that we will experience this as the particularly human way to know ourselves as creations of God.
